The Western Buddhist Association (WBA) is a non-profit Buddhist organization founded in New York City in 1998. Rooted in the traditions of Chinese Buddhism, WBA operates Fanzyin Temple (梵音寺) — a place of spiritual practice, cultural celebration, and community service in the heart of New York.

Since its founding, Fanzyin Temple has been the spiritual home of WBA. Over the decades, the temple has hosted meditation retreats, dharma ceremonies, children's education programs, a Chinese language school, and major cultural festivals — bridging ancient tradition and contemporary life.

WBA was founded in New York City. We began in an old building with an unfinished basement — humble beginnings for what would become a thriving temple and community center.
